Louise studied painting in the 1980s and only discovered printmaking when she had finished her degree. Later, when being a ‘practising artist’ actually meant supporting herself with a non-art related full time job, she decided to learn silkscreen printing at an evening class. This led to the MA Printmaking course at Camberwell where she floundered to some extent but really enjoyed lithography. Later she bought some wood engraving tools and has been working almost exclusively with relief printmaking ever since.
