Growing up in Tokyo over 20 years and living in London for a similar length of time gave Emiko a curiosity about people in large cities with herself amongst them. What is the relationship between traditional and modern culture? Where does she belong? Where is she going? These kinds of endless questions evoke in her feelings of how fragile and lonely humankind is.
