Suzy was born in London in 1964 and studied at the Royal Academy Schools and Wimbledon School of Art. She has lived in South Devon for many years where she paints and teaches part time.
Suzy’s paintings are a response to the nearby moor, forest and garden with its changing seasons and produce. She begins with a simple on the spot pencil sketch which is developed in Watercolour in the studio into more imagined worlds. These lead to larger oils and more defined egg temperas.
She is a former pupil of Norman Adams RA and Prunella Clough.
Suzy has exhibited in London, Devon and Cornwall including at the Royal Academy Summer exhibition and was shortlisted for the Lynn Painter Stainers prize. She spent a year as artist in residence at the London Business School and commissions include a painting for the Laura Ashley Foundation of the view from the family home in Wales.
