Julie D. Cooper RWS
Julie was born in Hertfordshire. She lives in St Ives and works from her studio nearby. Her paintings have emerged from observations of natural forms and places she frequently visits surrounding her studio.
With the counterpoints of land and ever-changing sea and light, works have evolved from various starting points, the incidental, the in-between and high viewpoints. Julie adjusts the painting continually assembling rhythmic forms in a personal response to the landscape.
Julie has exhibited in group shows including The Society of Women
Artists, Ing Discerning Eye and The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition
at The Mall Galleries in London. In addition, she has exhibited at Wells
Contemporary, RWA Bristol, Beep Painting Biennial, Swansea and Linden
Hall Studio in Kent. More recently she was invited to exhibit at Helm
Contemporary in New York and selected for The Royal Academy Summer
Exhibition 2026.
Julie is a member of St Ives Society of Artists.
