Jane enjoys the unpredictability of watercolours. She is never sure how a work will develop and this element of discovery is part of the joy of the medium. Every painting offers fresh challenges and new solutions. Jane is a passionate supporter of figurative painting. To closely observe and record everyday subjects is the essence of her art. Her paintings, both in oils and watercolours, reflect her response to the quality and surprises of light and colour. Jane constructs her painting with much thought, building a composition which steers towards the abstract but never foregoing the figurative tradition
