Olesya Dzhurayeva ARE
Olesya uses her linocuts as a personal visual diary. She draws from the world around her to reflect the emotions generated by an experienced moment. She uses this visual language and imagery as her medium to share her feelings and vision, freely and with experimentation, and tries not to fear making mistakes.
Olesya has been a professional graphic artist since 2002. She studied at Kyiv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design. In 2008 she became a Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Her artworks have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and all around the world, including several solo exhibitions in Europe. She is an active member of the international printmaking community, participant and laureate of many printmaking competitions. Since 2018 she works as a book illustrator, and her printmaking work uses mainly techniques of relief printing.
Her works feature in many public collections including Victoria and Albert Museum, London, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan, Klassik Stiftung Weimar. Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek, Weimar, Germany, Berlin State Library, Berlin, Germany, Zuckerman Museum of Art, Collection and Archive of the Southern Graphics Council International, USA.
