Emma Lawrenson ARE

Biography

Working from her Yorkshire countryside studio, Emma creates thoughtful and harmonious pieces with a carefully considered approach to form and space. Sometimes she uses geometrical shapes, other times, the forms in her works are more fluid, tactile and organic.

Emma's printmaking is a recording process of her ideas, feelings and moments in time. Inspiration is gathered from the changing seasons and fabric of the landscape. She aims to preserve these moments and memories through layering and hand-drawn marks, with interactions of subtle colour.

This intuitive use of colour and layering creates her ‘quiet’ prints that instill a feeling of calm.

Emma studied at the Royal College of Art. She has had several solo exhibitions and her work features in many public collections including Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Bank of America, CBRE Global Investors (London) and Clifford Chance (London).
