MEET THE ARTIST: Mark Raggett RWS & screen printing with Denise Ballard-Wyllie ARE

 Mark studied Fine Art before going on to work in theatre and opera as a scenic artist and prop maker, and further pursuing a career as an art director in film and television. He has continued to paint, mainly the landscape of his native Wales, but also the West Country, the Lake District and the Isle of Man, He works mainly in watercolour and acrylic, producing drawings in pen & ink and graphite.

 

Denise Ballard-Wyllie ARE is an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and a Director of the Printmakers Council. Her practice draws on studies at Kingston, Brighton and Central St Martins, alongside research at the Slade. Residencies at Chelsea Physic Garden, David Austin Roses and a Cancer Research laboratory inform her current artworks on exhibition and Healing Garden series. Dove Companions, shown here, uses a harmonious palette to evoke calm and quiet reflection.
