Agathe Sorel says of her practice, 'My work comprises several media, and I move frequently from one to another. Painting, sculpture, printmaking, livres d’artiste are the main areas, but on a practical level also includes photography and digital work. I always tried to disregard artificial barriers between these territories. My early training and background was in drawing and figurative art and I often start with watercolour paintings in the landscape in Lanzarote, a dramatic volcanic island, where we spend several months a year. These sketches are then interpreted in various ways, sometimes involving abstract ideas and theories.'
